In Chile, the legal protection of cultural heritage is recent and dispersed across different regulations. Reference to religious cultural heritage is practically nonexistent and depends more on its historical or artistic character. The urgent need to systematize regulations, centralize competencies in a single authority, and promote incentives for donations is concluded, in addition to raising social awareness about the value of heritage and its conservation.
