Introduction

The UC Law and Religion Center (known until 2015 as the Center for Religious Freedom – CELIR UC-) was established by the Faculty of Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in 2005, with the aim of promoting the study of the fundamental right to religious freedom as a guiding principle of the Rule of Law. It encompasses the links between law and religion, the institutional relations between the State and religious denominations, as well as dialogue with other fields of knowledge. We publish a monthly Legal Bulletin that systematizes current national and Latin American legal developments (legislation, jurisprudence), serving the academic community, members of state powers, lawyers, and other interested professionals. We advise university institutions, religious denominations, and public and private organizations.
