This brief comments on nine articles proposed by the Fundamental Rights Commission of the Constitutional Convention concerning education and freedom of teaching, analyzing their harmonization with religious freedom according to international treaties. It notes shortcomings in the articles regarding the secular nature, respect for religious expressions in the public system, the participation of the educational community versus the preferential right of parents, and excessive restrictions on the creation of educational establishments. It advocates for respect for pluralism and the spiritual dimension in education, as well as consistency with international treaties ratified by Chile.
