Analysis of the regulatory and historical evolution of the funding of religious organizations in Chile, from the collection of the tithe in the colonial period and patronage laws, to the current system without specific mechanisms and the relationship between Church and State. The role of the State in funding is reviewed, along with the last legal system for converting the tithe, and the transition toward recognition of freedom of worship.
