Comparative analysis of marriage regulations in 21 Latin American countries based on the hermeneutic principle of religious freedom. It is based on the international and constitutional recognition of the right to believe or not to believe, and outlines the relevance and challenges of marriage as a paradigm in the face of emerging new union models, the state and religious roles, and the historical and social evolution in the region.
